This October, the Fada Mission team embarked on a crucial journey to the IDP center in Douala Bonaberi, marking our first engagement with a community that urgently needed our help. The visit was not only a response but a commitment to providing continued support.
Upon arrival, we were confronted with severe health challenges among the children—skin scabies, jaundice, and ringworm were prevalent, underscoring the dire conditions and the urgent need for medical intervention. Our medical team, led by Dr. Clare Tentoum and Ms. Nankeu Elvire, swiftly consulted with the children, diagnosing and administering the necessary medications to begin their healing process. The appreciation from the center manager was profound, reflecting the immediate impact of our efforts.
Recognizing the broader needs of these vulnerable children, Fada Mission also donated essential food items, clothing, and household supplies. These contributions are part of our holistic approach to care, aiming not only to treat immediate medical conditions but also to enhance the overall living conditions of the community.
The commitment made during this visit was clear—we promised to return and evaluate the recovery progress of the children. This pledge underscores our dedication to not just short-term relief but long-term health and well-being.
As we continue our work at the IDP center, we remain dedicated to making a significant difference in the lives of these children, offering them not just medical care but the hope and support needed to thrive. We look forward to our next visit, hopeful for continued improvements and strengthened by the community’s resilience.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this visit a success. Your hard work and compassion have started a transformation that promises better health and brighter futures.
